Snapp

It’s kind of similar to Uber. With this app you can hitch ride to anywhere you want and the price is significantly cheaper compared to cabs, especially in cities other than Tehran. There are other car-ride apps but what makes Snapp the best one for you, is the fact that you can switch the language to English or French, unlike others that are all in Farsi.

Tehran Metro

Whatever your plan in Iran may be, chances are really high that you spend a couple of days in the capital city. Tehran is a big city and it’s not always easy to get around by foot and if you want to avoid the traffic jam, there is no better way than Tehran’s subway system or as we call it Metro. To make sure that you won’t get confused with all the different train scheduals and routes, you can use the Tehran Metro app. With its help you are able to find the location of your desired station on the map, learn when the train will arrive and even find the facilities of station.

For keeping up with the calendar difference

Date/Calendar Converter

The app even comes with transliterations of the Persian names for months and days, making your job much easier when trying to communicate them to the locals.

For finding Apps

Café Bazaar and SibApp

Some of these or other apps might not be available to users in Iran, but don’t worry! Like everything else, there is an app for that too. Café Bazaar for android and SibApp iDevices provide an alternative app store for the people in Iran.

For Communication

Learn Persian

Many people can speak English in Iran, especially if you’re in a hotel or touristic site. But every once in a while you may find the need to communicate, using with the local language. This app helps you learn some essential Farsi words and phrases that will help you a lot.

Also, Iran is one of the most welcoming countries in the world. Wherever you go, people will show you that famous Iranian hospitality you’ve heard so much about. So knowing a couple of sentences in Farsi could provide you with the opportunity to communicate more with the locals.
